SMM News on December 8: According to market rumors obtained by SMM, a major northern smelter recently conducted a public tender sale of several mt of crude cadmium and refined cadmium, which was successfully concluded. Market rumors suggest that the final transaction price for refined cadmium was at a discount of 1,400 yuan to the base price, while the transaction price for crude cadmium was at a discount of 3,000 yuan to the base price. Market participants indicated that although cadmium prices currently show a weakening trend and end-user buying interest is insufficient, the successful conclusion of this tender reflects that market demand is not as weak as perceived.
